April In Review

It’s been a fantastic month at SoundSuck. We’ve had some great featured artists, shared a few new videos, and played some solid original and remixed tracks. I have final exams next week so I’m afraid I won’t be posting much for the next week or two. But I wanted to be sure to thank everyone who has been coming back to the blog over the past month by giving out the SoundSuck Mixtape Vol. 2. This April mixtape is a compilation of our ten favorite tracks we’ve shared on the blog over the past month.

The Rosewood Thieves In Austin

The Rosewood Thieves, one of the most intuitive folk rock bands around are coming to Austin on May 3rd. What makes this show that much more irresistible is the fact that the New York natives will be accompanied by Frank Smith.

Unfortunately I’m not gonna be able to make it but if you go try to get some pictures of the show we can post up later.

Date: May 3rd, 8:00
Location: The Mohawk, Austin, TX
Tickets will be sold at the door.

Map available here.

Things Are Gonna Get Messy…

Hey guys just giving you the heads up that we’re changing the site up pretty dramatically so for the next few days expect errors on the site, double-vision, and loss of links. Sorry for the mess but we’re trying to revamp the site to serve you better.

Become a SoundSuck Contributor

I love listening to music and I love sharing music on this blog. I’ve had some great help from guys like Jordan and the site’s viewer base is growing weekly. As much as I enjoy posting I just can’t keep doing it daily so I’m always looking for potential authors to add to the SoundSuck lineup.

If you love new and independent music and think you could contribute a blog post every once in awhile (anywhere from once a week to once a month) please contact me via email: shoook@gmail.com.

Thanks – Ryan

January In Review

Well it’s February which means today SoundSuck celebrates its 1st month of existence. We’ve acquired a few new writers along the way, found some great artists, made a few new friends, and really appreciate the people that have been coming back to the site and who’ve helped us get this far. We’d also like to thank John Otjen for hosting us.

In celebration of this momentous occasion we’re sharing the first SoundSuck Mixtape- a compilation of what we feel are the ten best tracks from the past month:

Hey, You Know Any Good Bands?

Today we celebrate Soundsuck’s first week on the internet. So exciting… anyways, as much as I love sharing music with our two readers (hi mom and dad) I would really like to hear some new material from you guys. If you know any relatively new/unknown artist who you think deserves some coverage please leave their name in a comment here. Don’t worry if you think they may be too popular or unpopular, all you need to enter is the artist name.  Your email and all that jazz isn’t necessary. If your artist makes the cut expect to see them up here soon with your name credited in the review.
Thanks – Ryan
